Specifically designed to detect biofilms quickly and easily on surface based on their selective staining.
NEW packaging, more practical and effective.
Results in a few minutes
Does not require specialised technicians
The reagent reacts in a selective way with the biofilm matrix, preventing the risk of false positives.
TBF® 300 is a quick test to detect biofilms on surfaces. This product allows identifying biofilm contamination areas in a quick, simple, and selective way.
In addition, it is an effective tool for the routine hygienic control of surfaces and the cleaning and disinfection procedures.
It comes in a 125 ml bottle with spray to facilitate application on surfaces.
1. Choose a test sampling area and make sure it is representative of the surface to be analysed. It is recommended to apply the product over an area of at least 10 cm2 on a horizontal surface.
2. Apply the product by pressing the spray so the surface is covered in an even way.
3. Leave the product to work for at least 5 minutes.
4. Rise the surface with water and check for the presence of any residual colouring. Residual colouring (fuchsia) after rinsing indicates the potential presence of biofilms.
The product includes a strong colouring capacity.
It must be applied in small doses and in a controlled way, using gloves to prevent contact with the skin.
Do not apply the product over porous surfaces that may retain the die permanently (wood, cloth, cardboard, etc.). If in doubt, it is recommended to carry out a preliminary test on a sample of the surface.
Also, there may be a large amount of die in the rinsing water and it could stain any absorbent materials it comes into contact with.
TBF® 300 contains biological staining agents selected because of their ability to detect biofilms formed by different bacterial species.
The biofilm staining can be seen with the naked eye, with no need for specific instruments or specialised technicians.
The detector effectively stains biofilms formed by bacteria from the Pseudomonas fluorescens, Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella enterica y Listeria monocytogenes, among others.
The staining agents die in an irreversible way that exopolymeric matrix components of biofilms, so the colouring is not specific of the bacterial species present in the biofilm.
The colourants in the TBF® 300 have also been tested for the typical waste present in food industries to prevent unwanted interferences. TBF® 300 does not stain residues such as milk, fat, or lean meat.
The product contains surfactant, thickening and stabilising agents to facilitate application and retention over the surface.
TBF® 300 is also soluble in water, so it can be removed by rinsing with water, except in those places where a biofilm has been formed.
The MIDA® range of products degrade the biofilm matrix, causing its detachment and allowing the removal of the microorganisms contained.
